Rajasthan is one of the most beautiful states in India. But, it is also one of the driest states in India. Apart from agriculture in a few parts that are irrigated, the rural population is dependent on labour work or handicrafts for their income generation.

However, women in rural areas live in a male dominated society. Most women do not have any say in decision making and they are not allowed to go out of their houses to work or earn money. To empower these women and motivate them to take up entrepreneurship, Udyogini has started working in villages of two tehsils – Sapotra and Khandar.

The socio-economic conditions for both these areas are different. Our projects involve identifying the need of the region and possible opportunities. Presently, we are working with 23 villages tapping over 2160 households for production of products like Ghee, Wheat Atta, and Poultry Feed. Our enterprises run by the 25+ farmer producer organizations are in different stages of production. On successful completion, the model would be ready for replication in other districts of the state.
